Day Three

Today we covered a lot of new things. First we recapped blogs and wikis. Then we enhanced these by adding Google Calendars and Google Docs. After lunch we learned all about Skype and had fun with the web cams. At the end of the day we introduced ourselves to Google Earth.

I can't believe how much I've learned in such a short period of time. All these new programs have made me feel computer illiterate.

I am all blogged out.

Wow - I am overwhelmed- by the time I master these programs, they will probably change.....

Skype was so much fun, but I didn't like the camera.

Today, we got a review of wikispaces and blogs, which are still alittle confusing. We also tried Skype and NetTrekker. Skype is interesting, but I'm not sure how you would use it in an educational setting.

well this morning was a little hairy especially since my blog didn't work at first. slightly overwhelmed with a lot of info. skype was fun i'm comfortable with it and was able to skype classmates and my aunt in georgia and my mom happened to be on so i talked with both of them for a few. i like to do the skyping and was able to talk to a tech teacher when i had a problem this year by conferencing with them.

I really enjoy Skype, but don't think I would use it in class.

Today was a really neat day. It was a lot easier since I knew most of the material that we wnet over. I had a great itme on skype and using the webcam even though I got yelled at for recording people without their permission

I still don't care for blogging, but found out the Skype is fun. I also really like Google Earth.

I was overwhelmed this morning with all the new things (google docs, wiki, widget, net trekker). I will need more time with some of those to feel comfortable. The afternoon on Skype was easy.

I'm having a hard time remembering how to get back to places once we leave - blogs to wikispaces to skype and back. I'm looking forward to using skype more.

Today was equally as interesting and confusing as yesterday -we reviewed a lot about wikispaces and blogs and learned about skype, netrekker, and google earth. I like skype but don't really think it would be useful in the classroom.

I had fun with skype, but don't think I will use it in class. I was not as overwhelmed today.

Skype was fun - I have used it before a lot with friends, but was glad to get into some of the specific things it can do. I doubt I will ever use it in class though.

Yesterday we learned about the different tools available to use in Skype, blogging, Google Earth and Net Trekker. In all cases, I was unaware of how much there was to do in each program. I know that I have started doing a lot of thinking about ways to best use these programs to help my students. I don't see myself using all them, but I can definitely incorporate some of them into my classroom.

I don't think that blogging is for the elementary age student-and I would only use it for collaborating with other kindergarten teachers!
