I think the Google Docs and Google calendar are interesting programs to use. I like the idea of Google Docs because I will use that to put info that I have already created out on the Internet. The project on Google Earth was a little frustrating and confusing, but overall, it was pretty good.
well we took a tour to the outer banks and compared costs of driving versus flying. need to play around with this for a while in order to navigate it better
The google earth travel project was knid of boring. I would have prefered a tutorial of google earth instead. I have high hopesfor this afternoon and discovery streaming but we will have to wait and see.
google earth was cool, but will take a lot of experience/playing aroundn to get used to the features. I have used discovery and love it!
I think that using the Google Calendar and Docs on my Wikispace will be useful for the classroom. Google Earth was exciting, but a little confusing to use. I think that the graphics are fantastic.
I like Google Earth. It was interesting to get to plan trip distances and the like. Google Doc is also a neat way to let peeps have access to items you want them to have
I would like to learn how to use google earth for a virtual tour of gettysburg since our school doesn't allow field trips during the week, except for science.
Google earth is a fascinating tool for a variety of activities! Good tool!
I think I fully understand google docs and calendars - or at least how to upload them onto my blog or wikispace. I had fun using google maps in a different way and have some great ideas on how to use it in my English classes. I would really like to keep learning about discovery education because there is so much out there.
Your funny Kevin - you should have chosen science - there the best teachers, right- TK and Patty?
I really like the idea of Google calendar. There are just some options I wish were available to us - putting multiple activities in the order you want, changing font sizes, etc. The Google travel project was a lot of fun. I don't travel much, so it was a bit of an eye opener to see how much it costs to take a family on vacation. As far as Discovery Education, I am somewhat familiar with how to use that, so it was nice to not feel so confused.
I really like google earth and think that it would have great applications for teaching world literature. The google docs and google calendar are new to our district and having the information before starting school was nice. I think I could use the docs, but don't know how the viewing abilities will be set up with our district yet.
I agree with michelle - I need to play with google earth a lot more to get comfortable with the program and find interesting ways for the kids to use it interactively too.
I leared that according to GoogleEarth, it is cheaper to drive to Orlando, FL than to fly.
